The Surface Pro series is one of the most successful ones of all time. It is a best-seller and one that’s imitated by many others in the field. The following device will be Surface Pro 8.
Surface Pro gets updated every year, and there are eight devices in the series now. Ever since the first one was released in 2013, they are doing a great job offering us only what’s the best out there.
So when will Surface Pro 8 be released?
There’s a chance it might be there later this year, although nothing is confirmed yet. The company usually organizes an event in early October, and the product is seen a few weeks later. They usually hold the event in New York, but we’re not sure whether this one will also be online.
Windows 11 is also on its way here, and when they released Windows 10, they also announced the launch on Surface Pro 4, among other devices. Will the same happen now with Surface Pro 8? We’re waiting to find out.
What do the rumors say?
The design will come with changes
The design for this one might change. With Windows 11 coming into the picture, some change is expected, and it is probably going to be for the better.
The screen will be bigger
Some people think that The Surface Pro 8 will be just as thin as Surface Pro X, but that may not be the case. Pro X was mode for ARM hardware, so of course, it’s thinner. Surface Pro X will be thicker, with a 13-inch display and thinner side bezels.
The screen will also have rounded corners, as Windows 11 comes with a design with rounded corners, so it was expected. The top and the bottom bezels, also larger.
Removable storage just in case
This one is made for businesses. It is made to be easier for users to remove the storage in case something happens. You can even destroy it when the device is recycled. You can just pop it open with a SIM tool.
A new processor
Right now, every laptop has the 11th-gen processor – besides the Surface Pro 7, made for businesses. Surface Pro 8 will probably get new Intel processors, as expected.
There are two ways in which this can go: using the Intel 11th-gen processors, like those on Surface Pro 7+, or using the 12th-gen processors, the one and only Alder Lake. But the latter will be announced soon, so we think it will rather get the 11th-gen processors. It has faster memory, Iris Xe graphics, and support for Thunderbolt 4.
The price remains the same
The price won’t change that much, but the base model might be more expensive if it comes with the 8GB model, and not the 4GB one.
Surface Pro 7 starts at $749.99 for 4GB of RAM, Core i3, and 128GB SSD. For $899.99, you get the model with Core i5, 8GB RAM, and a 128GB SSD. We expect Surface Pro 8 to come around these prices.
