According to the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), Tecno has launched the world’s first Android phone with a rear-mounted lens that is capable of expanding and retracting like that of a genuine camera. Tecno has made this claim. The Phantom X2 Pro is marketed as a premium gadget and has a flagship-grade 5G system-on-chip (SoC), a big AMOLED display that is integrated into a “dual-curved” design, and 12 gigabytes of random access memory (RAM).
Tecno was faster than OPPO and Huawei with the Phantom X2 Pro, which is a first-generation retractable-lens smartphone. One could be tempted to suppose that the term “first-gen retractable-lens smartphone” may well be linked with an OEM more like OPPO or Huawei.
The manufacturer claims that its rear-mounted camera is fitted with a functional telescopic module that can be used for taking portrait photos. Additionally, among mobile portrait lenses, its aperture of f/1.49 is said to be the widest available.
Although Tecno does not identify whose sensor is behind all of this, its specifications (50 megapixels in resolution, 1/1.3 inches in size, and 1.2 micron pixels) accord with those of the Samsung ISOCELL GN1 sensor.
Tecno has recruited the reputable fashion photographer Rankin to help market the X2 Pro and its new function, which, as claimed by the OEM’s new partner, is as effective at taking rapid pictures in low light as it is at taking portraits.
The X2 Pro boasts yet another “world-first,” which comes in the shape of a “3.5D Lunar Crater” glass back panel in either gray or orange to hold its new extensible lens. This lens can be found in a camera hump among three extra shooters, the biggest of which is allegedly a second 50MP camera.
With the latest flagship of the Phantom series, which has a curved back, the display is a 6.8-inch 120Hz curved AMOLED display coated in Gorilla Glass Victus and powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC. These expensive specifications (particularly for Tecno) are expected to be combined in the X2 Pro with 12 gigabytes of LPDDR5 RAM, 256 gigabytes of UFS 3.1 flash storage, and a 5,160 mAh battery with 45W charging.
