Tesla is preparing to release its own smartphone until April 2023, and the chances are great that the gadget will surpass all other phones on the market. After comparing the possible specs of the Tesla Phone Pi with what the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is capable of, it’s time to take another powerful flagship into account.
Huawei Mate Xs 2 is Huawei’s idea of a foldable and powerful smartphone. It has a lot of interesting features, such as 8 to 12GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 888 processor, 4K video recording with both the front and rear camera setups, and so on. But how well would it perform against the upcoming Tesla Phone Pi? Let’s find out:
Display
The Super AMOLED display of the Tesla Phone Pi measures 6.9 inches, and it shall be capable of an amazing refresh rate of 144Hz. We’re pretty sure that there isn’t any other smartphone on the market capable of such a high refresh rate! The resolution is also not to be neglected, as it’s set at 1344×2772 pixels.
Huawei Mate Xs 2 is equipped with a Foldable OLED display of 7.8 inches and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The resolution reaches 2200×2480 pixels.
Performance
Tesla Phone Pi carries a Snapdragon 8 Gen1 (4nm) chipset, as well as a CPU that reaches 3.2 GHz. That’s the most powerful mobile processor that Qualcomm has ever built.
Huawei Mate Xs 2 runs on the Snapdragon 888 4G chipset. Oddly enough, the smartphone lacks 5G connectivity, despite the fact that it was released this year back in May.
Tesla Phone Pi wins this round.
Cameras
Tesla Phone Pi’s main camera consists of a quadruple lens setup. The main sensor reaches 108MP. The ultrawide lens reaches 50MP, while the P. Telephoto sensor also hits 50MP. There’s also a 6MP Macro sensor.
The main camera of the Huawei Mate Xs 2 is represented by a triple setup on the rear. The main sensor reaches 50MP, while the telephoto lens has 8MP and the ultrawide snapper has 13MP.
Tesla Phone Pi wins.
Prices
The price for the Huawei Mate Xs 2 is about $2,059. Tesla’s upcoming phone, on the other hand, will likely be priced somewhere at $800. That makes the Tesla Phone Pi almost three times cheaper than the Huawei Mate Xs 2. However, you also need to take the price of the Tesla Phone Pi with a grain of salt.
Conclusions
Tesla Phone Pi dominates Huawei Mate Xs 2 in all key areas, which is great news if you’re looking forward to buying the upcoming device. Tesla Phone Pi is also expected to be capable of some mind-blowing functions, such as one that will make users forget about the age-old “no signal” problem for good. In other words, even if you are located in the middle of the forest while using the Tesla Phone Pi, you will still get enough signal to call a friend. However, if you’re more into ‘foldables,’ purchasing the Huawei Mate Xs 2 can also be a good option, although the lack of 5G connectivity seems like an ‘unforgivable sin’ in 2022. Otherwise, Huawei’s device remains a powerful flagship, even though Tesla Phone Pi will most probably be significantly superior.
The larger display of the Huawei Mate Xs 2 seems to represent the only reason why you would still prefer the device to the detriment of Tesla’s upcoming phone. ‘Foldables’ will likely become a standard in a few years.
You should definitely keep in mind that you need to take the specs of the Tesla Phone Pi listed here with a grain of salt. They are mostly based on rumors.
