Tesla, the famous company where Elon Musk is CEO, is preparing to come to the smartphone field with a pretty powerful gadget: the Tesla Phone Pi. You could say that the device will likely be out of many people’s league due to the presence of revolutionizing features that no other phone is currently capable of. For instance, it will allow users to get rid of the age-old “no signal” problem once and for all.
While last time we made a comparison between Tesla Phone Pi and the ASUS Zenfone 9, it’s time to compare the upcoming phone of Elon Musk’s company to what the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE has to offer. However, it’s important to take the specs of the Tesla Phone Pi with a grain of salt. Let’s proceed:
Displays: Tesla wins
Tesla will be equipped with a large Super AMOLED 6.9 inches display. It has enough refresh rate to run smoothly pretty much anything you can throw at it: 144Hz. The resolution will be set at 1344×2772 pixels.
The display of the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is a Dynamic AMOLED of 6.4 inches and a refresh rate that’s a bit lower than the one of its competitor for today: 120Hz. The resolution is also a bit lower, as it’s set at 1080×2400 pixels.
Tesla Phone Pi has a better display in our view.
Processors: Tesla wins
Tesla Phone Pi is expected to possess a Snapdragon 8 Gen1 (4nm) chipset and a CPU that reaches 3.2 GHz. That’s not bad at all, but the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is also doing pretty well in this area. The phone of the South Korean tech giant is equipped with a Snapdragon 888 5G and an octa-core CPU: 1×2.84 GHz Cortex-X1 & 3×2.42 GHz Cortex-A78 & 4×1.80 GHz Cortex-A55.
Snapdragon 888 is one of the best processors out there, but the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 is the best ever that was created by Qualcomm. Therefore, Tesla Phone Pi wins this round as well, without a doubt.
Cameras: Tesla wins
The main camera setup of the Tesla Phone Pi is pretty terrifying, as it consists of a quadruple lens setup where the main sensor reaches 108MP. There’s also an ultrawide lens of 50MP and a P. Telephoto sensor of 50MP, as well as a 6MP Macro sensor.
Samsung Galaxy S21 FE also has a pretty impressive main camera setup, but everybody has to admit that it’s nowhere near what Tesla Phone Pi has to offer. Samsung’s device carries a triple-lens setup on the rear that consists of a 12MP wide lens, an 8MP telephoto lens, as well as a 12MP ultrawide camera.
Price: Samsung wins
If you want to buy a cheaper device, you should clearly go for the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE. It costs around $300, while Tesla Phone Pi is worth almost three times more: $800.
Conclusions
Whether you change your smartphone once in a blue moon or not, you surely should still wait until next year to see for sure what the upcoming Tesla Phone Pi will be capable of. However, Tesla Phone Pi seems to be better in all areas compared to the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE, so it’s clear where the winner is at this point. On the other hand, Samsung’s phone is cheaper.
Both Tesla Phone Pi and Samsung Galaxy S21 FE are powerful phones. While the former is still yet to come, Samsung released its Galaxy S21 FE back in January.
Both smartphones feature IP68 dust and water resistance, a powerful battery, and plenty of gigabytes for RAM and storage memory.
