Tesla is coming fast to the smartphone field, as the famous company will launch its Phone Pi device at some point in April 2023. That means that we have plenty of time to learn a lot about what the upcoming device will be capable of.

There isn’t too much to find out at this point about the hardware specs of the upcoming Tesla Phone Pi. However, there is plenty of info out there on the internet, more or less reliable, and we can use it to already compare the device with other phones. We can expect Tesla to release a flagship – a phone packed with the powerful Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, a maximum of 12GB of RAM, and more.

On the other hand, Galaxy S22 is arguably the best smartphone lineup released by Samsung, so the guys from the ‘Spec World’ YouTube channel have compared the S22 Ultra model with what the Tesla Phone Pi is expected to be like!

While the screen type is pretty much the same for both gadgets (Super AMOLED and Curved AMOLED), Tesla’s phone has the upper hand when it comes to the refresh rate: 144Hz compared to the 120Hz that Samsung’s phone has. The Samsung S22 Ultra has a higher resolution than its adversary.

When it comes to the chipset, Tesla’s phone is expected to be equipped with the Snapdragon 898 5G chipset, which is the same processor mounted on the S22 Ultra. However, the Tesla Phone Pi has a little advantage, as its processor is expected to pack 3.2GHz, while Samsung’s chipset is capable of 2.9GHz.

When it comes to the rear camera, the Tesla phone wins the round due to its 108MP main wide camera, the 50MP Periscope, the 50MP ultrawide snapper, and the 5MP macro snapper. While the main wide camera of the Samsung flagship has the same number of megapixels, the Periscope, telephoto, and ultra-wide snappers have only 12MP each.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is better for video recording

Video recording is an area where the good old Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra easily takes the cake due to its capability of shooting footage in 8K and at 24FPS. On the other hand, its competitor can shoot video in only 4K quality and at 60FPS. You might want to take this criterion into account if you’re the type of person who’s into recording videos a lot.

When it comes to the selfie camera, this is the area where the prize goes to the Tesla Phone Pi device. The upcoming phone should be featuring a 48MP (f/2.2) front snapper, while the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is only capable of 40MP (f/2.2). In a world where more and more people are getting into the vlogging business, it’s surely useful to have such a powerful phone in your pocket, like Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra or Tesla Phone Pi.

As for water resistance, another important aspect nowadays when we’re using our phones everywhere, both Tesla Phone Pi and Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra offer IP68 waterproof. This means that you’re pretty much safe while walking through the rain while using any of the two flagships.

Both flagship smartphones also come equipped with an under-display fingerprint scanner, which is another important component nowadays!

The conclusion that the presentation video shown above comes with is that the Tesla Phone Pi is better than the Galaxy S22 Ultra made by Samsung. The result is based on 32 factors, and it’s pretty hard to make a more compelling comparison, we have to admit!

Let’s just hope that the information that’s already available regarding the specs for the Tesla Phone Pi is correct! We’ll know for sure on April 2023 when Tesla will launch its flagship phone!
