PlayStation Plus has just added a classic PS1 title that fans can play for free – “Alone in the Dark 2”, one of the oldest games for Sony’s legendary series of consoles. The game came out over three decades ago, back in 1994, when the graphics were very poor but the quality was skyrocketing.
But wait, there’s more. If you’re a fan of retro games, you definitely have even more reasons to be happy about the new update, as it also brings the PS2 title “War of the Monsters” to PS Plus Premium. These are the additions for April, and who knows what we can expect in the future of the PlayStation Plus service? The guys from PushSquare are responsible for spotting this precious info that will surely make a lot of old-school PlayStation fans happy.
Alone in the Dark 2: Is it still playable?
“Alone in the Dark 2” qualifies as a survival horror game, and it was the sequel of the original “Alone in the Dark” that came out two years earlier. The original game is often credited as the grandfather of the 3D survival horror genre in the gaming world.
No, I’m not gonna lie to you – “Alone in the Dark 2” clearly needs a remastered version if you’re the modern kind of gamer who wants some decent visuals. With all due respect, but the graphics of this game look awful. But you know what? That was part of the game’s charm back in the day!
“Alone in the Dark 2” can even run on PC if you can somehow find the right version nowadays. It only demands 512MB of RAM (let’s be honest, even our frying pan has more RAM nowadays), a 1.8GHz processor, 2GB of free space on the storage drive, and a 3D Graphics card compatible with DirectX 7.
