The Callisto Protocol, a popular survival horror game that has been making waves, received a free update from Striking Distance Studio today that added a brand new mode for fans of the genre!
This update, which is now available for free to all gamers, includes a “Hardcore Mode” that is intended to test your abilities to the maximum by limiting ammunition and health drops, lowering the value of contraband, and introducing more challenging and deadly adversaries.
The Callisto Protocol’s Season Pass includes the first of four upcoming paid DLCs, the Outer Way Skin Collection, which you can check out in the trailer posted online as well.
More material for the Season Pass will be released in the Contagion Bundle next month and the Riot Bundle later on in spring, both of which will contain new modes and more exciting new content.
With additional plot as well, things will come to a head in the summer of this year.
In case you like to make things easier on yourself rather than tougher, at least after completing the game once, a prior update has already incorporated the New Game+ mode too.
Currently, the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC, all support the Callisto Protocol so no matter what you prefer to play games on, you can still check it out for yourself.
This brand new survival horror game by Striking Distance Studio, directed by Glen Schofield, a Dead Space veteran, takes place in the year 2320 on Jupiter’s dead moon Callisto.
In the storyline, you assume the role of a wrecked cargo pilot who is unexpectedly locked up in Black Iron Prison, a high security place.
While there, he has to endure unspeakable atrocities during a terrifying epidemic in order to escape the penitentiary and learn the dreary mysteries of the United Jupiter Company.
