Fntastic, the studio behind The Day Before, has had a difficult time lately with its game getting delayed once more and users being rather lukewarm about newly revealed gameplay.
To make this situation even worse, some believe that the creators’ most recent The Day Before demo plagiarized a Call of Duty video.
Due to all of this, some negative comments regarding The Day Before have been made, to which Fntastic has replied with a statement clapping back at the supposed “disinformation” and the damage that it leads to.
After the game’s most recent gameplay demo and the community feedback that followed, the response was shared via the developer’s Twitter account.
Check out what they had to say!
“We live in a time of disinformation and of lack of fact checking. Anybody can say anything for views, and everybody will believe it. Disinformation needs to be dealt with since it can harm not just us but other indies and small / medium studios as well. It has a mental impact on the members of such teams also. After The Day Before release, we will think about how to help novice developers deal with such fakes and to allocate resources for this,” Fntastic tweeted.

It’s not really false to say that disinformation and a lack of fact-checking are serious concerns, but Fntastic does not go into any detail about what they mean by “disinformation” in this particular situation.
Sadly for the developers, there are a variety of possibilities, however.
Some may have labeled the game as “fake” or claimed that it is a scam due to how little of it we have seen in spite of it being one of Steam’s most-wishlisted titles before being taken down from the site.
It may also be the trailer issue where many believe it looks a bit too much like a Call of Duty trailer.
The possibilities are endless but maybe the statement will help calm the waters at least to a certain extent.
Many individuals chimed in to provide suggestions for things Fntastic could have done to prevent a situation like this, which also did not sit well with the audience.
Some think that more info drops and less finger-pointing at the readership would have helped instead. In response, Fntastic stated that while they do not have a marketing department, they intend to improve communication with the fanbase in the near future.
On November 10th, The Day Before is expected to be released.
