Doing your best to prevent the development of Alzheimer’s disease in your body in older years is one of the best things you can do. We’re talking about one of the most horrible diseases out there.

Doctors often recommend we maintain a balanced life. We should regularly go through some physical exercises, eat enough vegetables and fruits, get enough sleep, and so on. Following these simple patterns probably represents the best bet we have in preventing dementia at older ages, including Alzheimer’s, the most common form.

But when it comes to Alzheimer’s, scientists still have a lot more to learn about it, as well as about how to prevent the horrible neurodegenerative disease. A new study will surely shock you.

The fittest have 33% fewer chances of dealing with Alzheimer’s

The Washington Post speaks about a new report that reveals staggering information about the fittest individuals. It claims that these folks have 33% fewer chances of dealing with the most common form of dementia, Alzheimer’s.

A massive study was conducted to come to the shocking conclusion by researchers from George Washington University and the Washington VA Medical Center. Almost 650,000 veterans, having an average age of 61 years old, were assessed for almost a decade.

The researchers observed that the chances for the individuals to develop Alzheimer’s decreased as fitness improved.
Oddly enough, another recent study found that getting the well-known Viagra pill could also provide some help in fighting Alzheimer’s disease.
Feixiong Cheng, the senior author of that study, declared:

Notably, we found that sildenafil use reduced the likelihood of Alzheimer’s in individuals with coronary artery disease, hypertension, and type 2 diabetes, all of which are comorbidities significantly associated with risk of the disease, as well as in those without.

Sildenafil is just another moniker for Viagra.
