The Last of Us’ extraordinarily rocky PC launch has been addressed in a new statement from the game’s creator, Naughty Dog. Finally, many years after its initial PS3 release, The Last of Us Part 1 was released on PC last week thanks to Naughty Dog and PlayStation, however many who bought the game discovered it to be rife with bugs and performance problems.

Although Naughty Dog has previously made various hotfixes for this version of the game, the developer has now provided a longer statement on the matter, trying to provide an explanation for the bewildering PC version.

As mentioned before, The Last of Us Part 1’s PC version has not lived up to the level of performance, immersion and visual experience that fans have come to just expect from the beloved game development studio.

But there is hope! Naughty Dog made it very clear that they are still working diligently on it despite the poor start, and that they plan to release further fixes in the upcoming days.

Naughty Dog stated that “We know that some of you haven’t experienced the Naughty Dog quality that you expected. Our team’s working hard to resolve issues preventing some of you from experiencing the game in order to ensure it reaches the level of quality you expect and deserve. A hotfix addressing jittering on mouse controlled camera movement, some of the crashes, and more for The Last of Us on PC is slated for Tuesday. A larger patch with more fixes will be deployed later in the week. Our dedicated team and partners at Iron Galaxy will go on to investigate and address the known issues to deliver the great Last of Us Part I experience that you expect.”

Overall, Naughty Dog and PlayStation have gotten their pristine image ruined by The Last of Us Part 1’s poor PC performance.

This new version is by far the worst fans have ever seen from them, despite the fact that many of PlayStation’s PC ports have been rather good in the past.

It is unclear whether Naughty Dog will be able to significantly enhance the game in the next week, but many fans are probably not going to forget this incident for a long time, regardless of how things turn out in the end.
