With The Last of Us video game adaptation, HBO has produced five episodes of ground-breaking TV storytelling, and if the most recent episode is any indication, we’re in for a treat.
In fact, while still not over, the live-action adaptation has been receiving so much praise that it has already been renewed for season 2!
Kathleen (played by Melanie Lynskey), a new character created for the show, was introduced to viewers in episode four.
In Kansas City, Missouri, a revolution against the local FEDRA takes place and Kathleen is its brutal leader.
She is looking for Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) but also, more importantly, for the one responsible for her brother’s death – Henry (Lamar Johnson.)
In light of her role announcement, the actress who plays Kathleen experienced some body shaming from an unexpected person, however—a winner of America’s Next Top Model – Adrianne Curry.
Curry’s awkward tweet received a swift clap back from Lynskey and now, Entertainment Weekly reports that Curry appears to have completely deleted her Twitter account as a result of the interaction.
Lynskey’s clap back reads: “Firstly – this is a photo from the cover shoot for InStyle, not a still from The Last Of Us. And I am playing a person who meticulously planned and executed an overthrow of FEDRA. I’m supposed to be SMART, ma’am. I don’t need to be muscly. That is what henchmen are for.”

The Last of Us was created by Druckmann and Craig Mazin, the Emmy-winning creator of the popular series Chernobyl.
Proud of the project he got to work on, the latter previously gushed that The Last of Us is the “best” video game narrative ever made.
More precisely, during an interview for Empire Magazine, Mazin said that “It’s an open and shut case: this is the greatest story that’s ever been told in video games. Joel and Ellie did not shoot anything out their eyeballs. They were just people. And that is remarkably rare in video games. The fact that they kept it so very grounded, and truly made you feel – I’d never experienced anything like it, and I have been playing video games since 1977.”
HBO Max currently has The Last of Us’s first five episodes available for streaming.
The first season of the show will consist of nine episodes, with new episodes airing once per week, much to the disdain of bingers everywhere!
