Infants, a brand new life stage that will exist in-game between newborns and toddlers, will finally be added to The Sims 4 more than 8 years after it first launched in September of 2014.
At the Behind The Sims Summit presentation held last month, it was stated that The Sims 4’s infant update would have an official release date soon and that this new life stage will have a ton of new family gameplay elements that can be fully customized in CAS.
Although the update news has been going around since last year, gamers have just learned about the new content it would include, which has certainly increased excitement for the baby update’s release.
With this future upgrade, the Sims 4 babies will be more than just furniture items stuck to their crib. While the current baby life stage will still exist, the transition into toddlerhood will seem much more natural thanks to this new in between infant stage.
So when can Sims 4 players expect the release of this exciting update?
As it turns out, we still have to wait a little bit more as it will become accessible to all gamers on March 14 for free, regardless of platform.
This release will actually precede the March 16 release of Growing Together, the most recent expansion pack for the popular sandbox game.
While Growing Together is not necessary to enjoy Sims 4 infants, it will undoubtedly increase the amount of gameplay possibilities available for this new age stage.
The Sims 4 infants update will feature a ton of charming new features, including a variety of new interactions and activities as well as objects and CAS items.
The infants will have a wide variety of clothes, accessories, tiny shoes, and other items such as birthmarks at their disposal to personalize their appearance.
Additionally, new characteristics for toddlers have also been hinted at; however, the specifics have not yet been made public.
These characteristics will surely help the young ones develop more individuality.
With The Sims 4’s baby update, there are many new caregiver interactions available too, such as feeding, playing peekaboo, and bathing.
Furthermore, the infants have greater movement than the original babies, who are restricted to being in and immediately around their crib.
Sims are now able to carry infants around, interact with them in different ways, including by burping them, and hand them off to another character.
Even better, additional interactions have been added for sims of all ages, as well as for newborns and pets. Interactions are not only restricted to adults and infants, though, the trailer for the pack showing some adorable animations between infants and toddlers – bound to make family gameplay more endearing and more realistic.
Without the need for expansion packs, this Sims 4 update offers fresh entertainment, which is always welcome.
The update seems to offer plenty to do on its own, even though players can always choose to purchase Growing Together on March 16 to take the infant experience to the next level.
Other than that, you will be able to finally have infants in your game starting with March 14.
