The Sims 5 Release Date And Everything You Need To Know

Credit: Electronic Arts

Since The Sims 5 is presently in development, it is almost certain that we will be informed of its release date at some point in the near future. The Sims 4, which is now going into its ninth year, continues to be an enormous success for Electronic Arts. The game has showed exceptional durability despite having a difficult start in 2014. This is due to the constant release of new packs, the regular release of free base game upgrades, and an audience that is both loyal and passionate.

Everything you ever wanted to know about The Sims 5 is right here.

  • Although Electronic Arts has not yet made any announcements, it is safe to assume that The Sims 5 will not be released for some time yet. If EA and Maxis are actually further along in the production process than they are letting on, we believe we will have to wait until at least 2024 before we can get our hands on the game. A high number of new job openings at Maxis have been published by the fansite SimsCommunity.info over the course of the past year, which suggests that the developer has been busy growing their operations. Even though The Sims 4 uses an older engine, it is evident that Maxis has not yet run out of ideas for the game, which is not a bad thing in any way.
  • As for the different devices on which you will be able to play The Sims 5, it seems like a fair bet that the game will at the very least be available on personal computers (PC) and Apple Macintosh computers (Mac) through the Origin store (and maybe Steam). Keeping all of this in mind, we would be shocked if console players were required to wait an additional three years for The Sims 5 to be released. It would be really desirable to have a version of The Sims 5 available on the Nintendo Switch. Given the rather low level of support that EA has provided for the system, unfortunately there is no certainty. Even if we had the good fortune to hear about anything for the Switch, it is possible that the version that is released would be lacking in content.
  • One of the most pressing concerns regarding The Sims 5 is whether or not it will support multiplayer. To say the least, there is a lot of debate surrounding this topic. The Sims franchise is recognized for providing a single-player experience, and the initial plans for The Sims 4 to be a multiplayer title were met with negative reception from the fandom. As a result, a U-turn was made in the development of the game. It appears that The Sims 5 will have some sort of multiplayer component, albeit the exact nature of this component is still unknown.
