It was revealed on Thursday that Super Nintendo World, the theme park centered on the Nintendo franchise, would establish its first U.S. branch at Universal Studios Hollywood in the year 2023.
In accordance with the official announcement, the park will be featuring a pioneering ride and engaging zones, the interactive world will be a sensory display of vivid colors and architectural innovation that will be experienced by the entire family. It will be placed inside a newly enlarged part of the theme park and will be accessible to all visitors. Retail and restaurants experiences that are themed will boost the overall experience.
However, although the park is largely Nintendo-themed, the emphasis has so far been on the Mario property, including activities and rides styled after Mario, Toad, and the rest of the crew, as well as rides fashioned after famous video game series such as Mario Kart.
The initial edition of the theme park, which was created via a collaboration involving Nintendo and Universal, opened Japan in 2021. Theme park Super Nintendo World is one of a kind. It’s not just the first park to include Nintendo heroes and surroundings, but it also has a unique “Asobi” experience that allows visitors to “play” in the park by electronically collecting cash and other stuff – all while hitting question mark squares, of course. Guests compare their scores and track their progress using on-wrist Power-Up Bands and cellphones, and the park turns into its own type of game.
A Super Nintendo World in Orlando, Florida, has also been in the preparations for some time, and was initially planned to be the company’s first US facility until its debut was postponed. In addition, a potential facility in Universal Studios Singapore is being considered. Interested in getting a sneak peek of what to anticipate from Universal Studios Japan?
