It’s hard to imagine the world of gaming without Star Wars, not to mention the realm of sci-fi movies. That’s because games such as Knights of the Old Republic, Battlefront II, and many others from the Star Wars universe have become iconic for the gaming scene due to their power to captivate gamers for hours.

Helldivers 2 is a first-person shooter developed by the guys from Arrowhead Studios that has lots of aliens to blast. As you’ve already guessed, it has a lot in common with Star Wars games, which is why someone thought that it would be a great idea to make a crossover between those two worlds.

Are you ready to go to a galaxy far, far away?

In Star Wars, all characters are aliens, which is why every movie of the iconic franchise starts with the phrase “Once upon a time, in a galaxy far, far away.” Helldivers 2 will also include that recipe due to an upcoming Star Wars mod, and we have to say that we are already pretty impressed with the results:

Katherine Baskin, who is a Social Media and Community Manager at Arrowhead Game Studios, the company responsible for developing Helldivers 2, stated as the PlayStation Blog quotes:

Arrowhead has been quietly, but furiously working on a sequel to our much-loved title Helldivers. Our vision for the next installment always needed to be bigger, better and more hellish! What you see in our first trailer will, we hope, excite you and blow your minds! Along with the trailer, we wanted to give you some details of what you can expect, so let’s get you prepped for the fight.

Let’s face it: when we think about games about shooting aliens, Star Wars games rapidly pop into the mind! Surely, the idea to unify Helldivers 2 and the Star Wars universe cannot possibly leave any fan unmoved.
