WhatsApp is the most popular instant messaging service available. It has a user base of well over one million active users, and it’s rivaled only by the likes of Telegram and Viber.
The app has been recently updated to version 2.21.4.4 Beta and it received new extra features. Here is an extract of the patch notes that accompanied the new update:
“* Introducing disappearing messages. Now you can set chats to disappear after 7 days.
* Search your stickers with text and emoji or categories.
* Decorate your photos and videos with smoother drawing and new alignment guides.
* Now you can set a custom wallpaper for a chat or set a dark mode wallpaper. Choose from a refreshed wallpaper gallery or new colors over the doodle background.”
As you can see, the new version of the app brings quite a plethora of new functions, so you should download it soon in case you haven’t already. The new version is a beta one, so you have to be part of WhatsApp’s Beta program to get access to it right now. The features available in the beta version will also be brought to the regular app users in a matter of days and weeks. New updates are released for the Beta version of the app first so that they get field tested before a worldwide rollout.
The new Beta version can also be installed from third party sources like online app markets but we suggest that you avoid doing that. You never know what you get on the side of the new update – maybe it’s harmless or maybe it’s accompanied by malware or viruses.
