There are people of all kinds in this world, and surely there are even more headaches that they can give you. One of the endless amounts of reasons is through their voice, as they can be in complete disparity with your expectations. Some people talk too fast for you to keep up with, while others talk so slow that every conversation becomes pure torture.
With the new update of WhatsApp, the Facebook-owned app allows users to control the speed of the voice messages they receive. AndroidPolice.com brings the big news, and the new option to control the playback speed is currently being rolling out to beta users. The feature was already spotted by several users and confirmed by third parties.
Choose from 1.0x, 1.5x, 2.0x, etc.
When you want to change the playback speed, you can tap the desired speed next to the progress bar within an active voice message. It works very similarly to the YouTube speed control, except that it’s not also available for the video part. But giving that WhatsApp needs to satisfy over 2 billion users, the developers have all the interest to do their best for keeping them using the app. Furthermore, the statistics show that about 70% of these users are active on a daily basis. The app’s spokespeople even claim that 1 million users are added every day. While it may sound incredible, let’s not forget that one of the main criterions for choosing a messaging app is its popularity. You wouldn’t use a specific messaging app if most of your family members, friends, and co-workers aren’t using it as well.
What’s next for WhatsApp? Plenty of exciting features are awaited, and we can only look forward with a lot of optimism!
