Great news for WhatsApp users! A new feature will roll out soon, allowing you to edit your messages. Similar to what we’ve seen on Telegram, Twitter, or Signal, we could get our hands on the new editing feature in the coming weeks. The Meta Platforms Inc-owned messaging app released the first details, explaining:
[…] when you make a mistake or simply change your mind, you can now edit your sent messages on WhatsApp; […] Edited messages will display ‘edited’ alongside them, so those you’re messaging are aware of the correction without showing edit history.
So, when we’ll finally see that happening?
WhatsApp’s Edit Feature Release Date: What to Expect?
In the next several weeks, the new editing feature will become available everywhere. How cool is that?! Unfortunately, there’s a catch! You’ll get only within 15 minutes since you sent your message to change it. Well, it is not much, but there’s definitely going to be enough when you’ll find the editing feature in need!
What are your thoughts so far about the latest WhatsApp updates? How did your in-app experience improve?
How to use the editing feature on WhatsApp?
Quite simple! All you have to do is to long-press the message you wish to modify. Next, select “edit” from the drop-down menu, and you’ll be able to make the needed changes in a few seconds! Quite impressive, isn’t it?!
Here’s what the devs shared on the official WhatsApp Twitter:
IT’S HERE 📣 Message Editing is rolling out now.
You now get up to 15 minutes after sending a message to edit it. So you don’t have to worry if you duck it up 🦆 pic.twitter.com/JCWNzmXwVr

We get to see the editing feature in action, and by the looks of it, there’s going to be so much buzz around it!
As previously said, editing text messages is already possible in other rival apps like Telegram, Twitter, and Signal. Additionally, Apple added such a feature on iMessage last year. It would be nice to see how WhatsApp will make this feature shine.
