According to some new reports, Konami – the popular video game publisher – will soon reveal a new installment in the beloved Castlevania series.
Since Konami has largely neglected Castlevania in the last few years, this is definitely exciting news for the die-hard fans.
More precisely, since 2014, there hasn’t been a brand-new Castlevania title released, with the exception of the Netflix animated Castlevania series and a few remasters of earlier games.
Fortunately, if a recent rumor is to be believed, this doesn’t appear to be the case for very long.
A new Castlevania game is supposed to be released later this year, according to VGC Podcast’s host Andy Robinson.
Robinson stated that Konami intends to have a significant presence at E3 this year in comparison to prior years.
Additionally, the publisher ought to be prepared to make a fresh Castlevania-related announcement when it does go to North America’s largest gaming convention.
Robinson simply stated that “There is a new Castlevania game in addition to the Dead Cells DLC they announced at The Game Awards. And there is this much discussed Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, which I also expect them to finally show.”
If a new Castlevania game is announced this upcoming summer, it may be really fascinating to see how it’s designed.
The Castlevania series’ most well-known installments are 2D ones, but Konami’s final game, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, was action-oriented and took place in 3D settings.
However, the Lords of Shadow series did not receive favorable reviews from gamers, so this rumored new installment in the franchise will probably have more in common with earlier games.
Return to Castlevania, a new piece of DLC, is scheduled to launch on all platforms on March 6 and will see Castlevania collaborating with Dead Cells in the near future.
